A contingency plan is basically a back up plan, in case something goes wrong, for instance a leaking roof, or a water logged pitch.

Contingency plans can be used when... The weather is bad, Waterlogged pitch , different problems with the pitch , and alot others.

in every event i would make sure i always have a contingency plan incase anything goes wrong for example if i was using a sports hall event and the roof was leaking that would be a hazard and i had to make sure that i had a back up plan if every thing goes wrong.

A different example would be if i did a event outside on the grass i would have to make sure i had a contingency plan incase the grass is waterlogged or frozen the night before i would have to carry out a risk assesment to make sure the event is safe and won't be dangerous.

Another  reason is you need different equipment if your moving outdoor from indoor , you may need different sport equipment eg. footwear for the parents , different football and if there is no nets outside you have to see if the nets from indoor are suitable to be moved from indoor to outdoor. You also if something goes wrong indoor you have to make sure that the pitch you want to play on hasn't been booked and that its available. Different risk assessments could be carried out in this event, and different equipment will have to be changed parents will have to be notified because of their clothes and there footwear.
