The health and safety act 1974; under this law all employers have a duty to care to ensure that a safe woking enviroment is provided which is free from anything that could cause harm or cause a risk to health or life. In this instance, the employer would be the coach and the facilty provider. The act states that employer and employees have responsibilites. This is so if there has been any risks and harzards missed by somebody then other people can see them so there is less risk of an injury occuring when you are at work. I think this is a good legisation because it is not just up to 1 person but up to several people and there is less pressure on 1 person which may led them to miss a risk.
Control of substances hazardous to health regulations 2002; Under the regulation, employers must ensure that anyone who uses chemicals or substances that could cause harm to others is aware of safe practices relating to handling, use and storage. In a leisure or fitness centrea wide range of harmful or toxic substances are used to maintain swimming pools or jacuzzis, and also for cleaning and disinfecting. This is so that people are not tempted to pick up the substance and drink it and make them ill or even die because of that substance. i think this is good because it puts less people at risk and especially children because they will not know what it is and think it is a toy.
Health and safety (first aid) regulations 1981; there must be a qualified first aider within leisure facilites, companies or any organisation. These people need to be able to take control of a first aid situations and look after the first aid equipment. A fully stocked first aid kit must also be available. The qualified first aider who prty worse than he/she is already
Children act 1989; there are many services in sport and leisure aimed at children, for example football and rugby choaching, half term and out of school activites, so this act is a major importance as it looks at safe working practices for children. The facility or centre providing the sports or leisure services must also be registred. This is so that all children are safe when they go out to do something they enjoy. I think this is a good idea because parents know they are safe when they are going out and it stops them from worrying about there children and then that lets them relax
Safety at sports grounds act 1975; this act is designed to protect the safety of spectators at sports events, it is the responsability of the organisers of the event to ensure that spectators, participents and staff are all within a safe enviroment. If the capacity of the stadium is 10,000 then a safety certificate is required. This is because of some of the disaters that have happened in the past in stadium. I think this is a really good idea because people who are going watching a match they are safe.
